Origin

Mace (Javitri) is a well-known spice derived from the nutmeg tree, native to the Indonesian Moluccas islands. The nutmeg tree produces both nutmeg and mace, which are different parts of the same fruit. Mace is the outer covering of the nutmeg seed, and it has a distinct, slightly sweeter taste than nutmeg spice.

The spice is used in various culinary dishes worldwide and has medicinal properties that make it a natural home remedy for many ailments.

Who can consume Mace?

Blade Mace is safe for consumption for most people, except for those with nutmeg allergies. People who are allergic to nutmeg spice or ground nutmeg should avoid consuming mace. Moreover, pregnant and breastfeeding women should consume it in moderation, as high doses may lead to adverse effects.

However, it is recommended to consult a doctor or a qualified nutritionist before consuming mace or any other new supplement, especially for those with pre-existing medical conditions.
